“Well there are existential crises and there are midlife crises, they are two different things and it appears you’re here because you’re having both.”
That’s my zen teacher—don’t worry, she’s talking about me, not you.
It’s how this site began—quite literally: those were the first words published on it. But it’s also why it began.
How am I to live my life?
In 2015, I wasn’t satisfied with the answer I’d come up with so far. That year I left my job, sold my things and bought a oneway ticket out of the country. On March 9th, 2016 I left.
Travel was a way to see how others were answering the question and gave me time and space to think about my own answer. I figured I’d write about it.
This site is about the inner journey that question sparked, where it’s leading me and what I’ve discovered along the way. It’s a collection of inspiration, contemplation and practical resources for others on their own journey of self-discovery.
Above all, this site is about how expanding our world begins with exploring ourselves. Wherever we are.
ALASDAIR IS A WRITER AND WORLD TRAVELER.
In his past he’s served as a business manager for a range of startups. He ran and co-led a community to help young professionals and entrepreneurs connect and learn from each other.
Before that he managed an international team and served as GM for a multi-million dollar portfolio of product-based ecommerce companies.
At the end of 2015 he took a major leap of faith: he walked away from his business, sold all his belongings and left his beloved city of San Diego to follow an inner calling to see the world.
