WHERE THINGS BEGAN
“Well there are existential crises and there are midlife crises, they are two different things and it appears you’re here because you’re having both.”
That’s my zen teacher—she’s talking about me, not you.
It’s how this site began—quite literally: those were the first words I published on it. But it’s also why it began.
How am I to live my life?
In 2015, I wasn’t satisfied with the answer I’d come up with so far. That year I left my work, sold my things and bought a oneway ticket out of the country.
On March 9th, 2016 I left the California coast and with it, the sterile shores of security and comfort I found myself beached upon, in search of a new direction.
Curiosity—not fear—would be my compass. Uncertainty and serendipity, my twin companions.
For me, travel is a way to explore what else is possible. So is this blog.
I hope fellow explorers will find in it a muse for their own journeys, but above all, I hope those who might be tempted will find in it an invitation to begin: it is not too late, the gangplanks have not yet been raised.
I have not found the way, but I have begun the journey and the horizon is calling.
I AM AN EXPLORER.
I enjoy walking, deep conversations and getting lost.
In my past I organized a community that helped young professionals and entrepreneurs explore themselves and connect with each other.
Before that I led an international team as general manager for a multi-million dollar portfolio of product-based ecommerce companies.
I write a monthly newsletter where I share stories from my travels and the ideas that are influencing how I live and think called “Links That Made Me Think” (sign up below).
